Most admissions to inpatient care are facilitated through designated crisis responders, medical providers, community service providers, or law enforcement. Admission can also be voluntary or involuntary. In order to refer clients for a designated mental health professional evaluation, please contact your local crisis line, or contact the Evaluation and Treatment facilities directly, and their contact information is located at the right of this page.
Admission to an Adult Evaluation and Treatment Facilities
Clients who are 18 years old or older can be admitted voluntarily or under the Involuntary Treatment Act. Clients are admitted under this rule when they are demonstrating an increase in mental health symptoms that cannot be safely managed in the community. Typically, individuals are admitted in response to being a danger to themselves, a danger to others, or because they are gravely disabled and cannot care for their basic health and safety. The typical length of stay is between seven and ten days.
Once admitted, clients receive the following services within 24 hours:

A psychiatric evaluation

A psychosocial intake evaluation completed by a master’s level therapist

A nursing assessment

A physical assessment
Admission to an Adolescent Inpatient Facility
Our Adolescent Inpatient Facility serves children and adolescents between the ages of 11 and 17. Clients can be admitted either voluntarily, or under the Involuntary Treatment Act for children who are at least 13 years old. Adolescent clients are admitted under this rule when they are demonstrating an increase in mental health symptoms that can be safely managed through inpatient care. Typically, youth are admitted in response to being a danger to themselves, a danger to others, or because they are gravely disabled and cannot care for their basic health and safety. The typical length of stay is between seven and ten days.
Once admitted, youth clients will receive the following services within 24 hours:

A psychosocial intake evaluation completed by a Master’s Level therapist and Child Mental Health Specialist

A physical assessment
Outpatient Providers
Outpatient treatment providers are strongly encouraged to participate in the treatment process so they can assist in client care after their stay in an inpatient facility. Additionally, outpatient providers will be invited to participate in the family/community support sessions we offer.
