When an individual suffers from acute psychiatric symptoms, they need a safe, therapeutic, inpatient environment for evaluation, stabilization, and treatment – think of a hospital intensive care unit for acute mental illness.

Comprehensive Healthcare’s 16-bed inpatient facilities are staffed with expert medical and therapeutic staff. Stays can range from a few days to a couple of weeks. Clients leave the facility after extensive discharge planning which provides the client with an outpatient continuing care plan for follow up services.

Therapeutic programming in our Evaluation and Treatment (E&T) centers include individual and group counseling, medication evaluation and management, case management, and recreational activities. The staff of interdisciplinary clinicians works alongside the client, their family and community partners to stabilize clients as soon as possible.

Our clinicians work with the client and help them to:

  • Stabilize a crisis

  • Develop problem solving skills

  • Regulate emotions

  • Manage anger

  • Manage stress

  • Conduct a drug and alcohol assessment and learn about substance use disorders

  • Develop interpersonal skills

  • Create a safety plan

Comprehensive Healthcare operates three Evaluation and Treatment (E&T) facilities in Yakima and Selah, including one adolescent inpatient facility.
