After about three and a half years of working with Catholic Charities, Chris De Villeneuve is returning to Comprehensive Healthcare as Vice President. He previously worked with Comprehensive Healthcare for 15 years, leaving the organization when he was Director in Sunnyside. We are thrilled to welcome Chris back!
In total, Chris has 25 years of experience in the field of behavioral health and primary care, bringing a wealth of experience to this new position. Chris started his career at Lourdes Medical Center in TriCities. He served as Executive Director of the Student Medical and Counseling Clinic at Central Washington University for three years, and was part of the hostage negotiating team with the Yakima Police Department for 13 years. He also played a part in setting up the implementation of the Affordable Care Act in Washington State. Chris also really enjoyed working with law enforcement, and had the opportunity to help develop the CIT program that is being implemented on the western side of the state.
“I am all about healthcare transformation and the opportunity to work across platforms and strategically do what is the best needs of the community,” said Chris. “Integrated healthcare is huge, we should be looking at integrated care this time to expand behavioral health.”
Chris also looks forward to starting leadership development and the individuals in the organization who will be the leaders of Comprehensive Healthcare in the future. “The more we can do to build great leadership, the better.”
Chris is married to his lovely wife who he met when they were both working at Comprehensive Healthcare! She was a counselor at the time when he proposed, and he was so excited, he actually sent an All Staff email to announce that she had accepted. “I don’t think HR was very happy with me,” he said laughingly. They now have two kids, and Chris loves spending time with family. His son Jonathan is 13, and his daughter Vivian is 10, so Chris says his free time is mostly taken up by lots of school and fundraising activities. He also recently helped St. Joseph Marquette and a network of Catholic schools establish health screening for all of their schools. Apart from family time, he enjoys a good game of golf, but admits it has been some time since he has visited the green.
