Gleed Orchard Manor has taken another meaningful step toward enhancing the well-being of its residents and staff with the unveiling of a brand-new walking path. Nestled behind the facility, the path is designed as a welcoming space for all. This thoughtfully planned trail winds through a serene landscape of shady trees, picnic benches, and raised gardens. It offers a peaceful setting where clients and staff can walk, reflect, gather, and enjoy nature together.
This new organization-wide resource is not just a place for physical activity; it is also a celebration of the personal journeys of our clients. Along the path, you will find posters sharing stories of how art and music have positively impacted their lives. Each poster includes a QR code that links to the individual’s favorite song, allowing you to experience the music that has brought them joy and healing. Throughout the facility, you will also see fun STEM projects, led by Rene Perry, Behavioral Health Associate and activity leader at Gleed, like art pieces that clients made from branches of cut-down trees!

The new walking path at Gleed Orchard Manor would not have been possible without the dedication of Rene. Transforming an innovative idea into a meaningful resource for our clients and staff, her leadership and creativity brought this space to life, making it a true reflection of our mission and core values. The walking path stands as a testament to what’s possible when we lead with heart and purpose. Our Director of Residential Services, Sue Van Tuinen, expresses, “Rene’s contribution as the activity leader at Gleed is paramount to our client’s well-being. Gleed Orchard Manor assisted living is a long-term placement for our clients, and self-value and worth are of the utmost importance to their daily lives. Rene demonstrates their value in every activity, ‘recreational therapy’ if you will, she plans for each of the clients at Gleed. She humbly shows up every day and makes the client’s worthiness her priority.” Thank you, Rene, for what you do for our clients!!
Additionally, the Herum family generously donated flowers for the new walking path at Gleed Orchard Manor, a place that holds deep meaning for them. Their thoughtful contribution reflects the value they place on the well-being of the community and their strong connection to the Manor, where cherished memories and family ties continue to blossom, just like the flowers they’ve shared.
