The Outpatient Co-occurring Disorders Treatment program at Comprehensive Healthcare in Pasco has been recognized by the state of Washington as a Dual Diagnosis Enhanced program. During the state surveys that took place in July, Comprehensive Healthcare scored 4.28 out of five. The Dual Diagnosis Enhanced program rating is the highest level of performance a treatment program can attain and indicates that the outpatient services provided by Comprehensive in Pasco are well prepared to treat individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
“The Pasco campus serving Benton and Franklin counties has had significant growth and changes over the past several years. This has given us the opportunity to develop our co-occurring disorder treatment program and delivery,” said William Waters, Division Director at Comprehensive Healthcare.
There are seven different assessment categories within the state survey, milieu, clinical process, assessment, treatment program structure, continuity of care and staffing. The state survey also noted Comprehensive Healthcare’s strong presence and reputation in the community as a quality agency that specializes in the art of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) counseling. Waters explained that the survey is a helpful tool for their department to use as it provides milestones for growth and sustainability marks.
The Co-occurring Disorder Team at Comprehensive Healthcare in Pasco includes case managers, substance use disorder treatment professionals, therapists, a nurse and a medical prescriber. The team provides behavioral health treatment based on each individual’s unique needs and assists with connecting clients with other community resources such as housing, medical and social services. The team also helps clients become involved in positive leisure activities and engage with the community in meaningful ways.
Comprehensive Healthcare’s Co-occurring disorders treatment program in Yakima also reached the Dual Diagnosis Enhanced level of recognition with a score of 4.83.
