Alcohol Awareness Month: Comprehensive Healthcare offers support for alcohol use disorder

April is Alcohol Awareness Month – a time to acknowledge the real challenges individuals and families dealing with alcohol use disorder and addiction face. This month is a good reminder that help is available, stigma-free, and closer than many people think.

Same-day access to care

In 2025, Comprehensive Healthcare introduced same-day access to substance use disorder (SUD) assessments. That means no waiting for an intake assessment appointment – individuals seeking care can walk into any open Comprehensive Healthcare outpatient location in Yakima, Kittitas, Benton, Franklin, and Walla Walla counties and receive an intake assessment on the spot.

During that visit, a licensed SUD professional evaluates each individual’s needs and can quickly refer them to receive services based on their level of need and treatment goals. Our services and treatment are available in both English and Spanish.

A full continuum of care

Comprehensive Healthcare offers a range of evidence-based treatment options to meet individuals wherever they are in their recovery journey, from intensive inpatient to outpatient and group counseling, to more specialized programs. For those who need detox services, withdrawal management services are available at the Crisis Triage Center in Yakima, a 24/7 facility that accepts self-referrals as well as referrals from family, friends, first responders, and medical providers.

Many individuals experiencing alcohol use disorder may also live with mental health conditions. Our whole-person approach addresses both, offering a more complete path to recovery.

Expanding access across the region

This May, Comprehensive Healthcare will open the Columbia Valley Center for Recovery in Kennewick. The facility will offer Secure Withdrawal Management and Evaluation & Treatment Program, along with Crisis Relief, Crisis Stabilization, and Co-Occurring Residential Treatment programs.

The opening of the new facility significantly expands the organization’s services in the Tri-Cities area and marks a milestone as the area’s first inpatient treatment and recovery facility.

Comprehensive Healthcare is proud to offer support to individuals seeking treatment for alcohol use and provides a range of treatment services for those on the road to recovery.
