As demand for substance use treatment services in Central Washington continues to grow, Comprehensive Healthcare will begin providing secure, medically monitored detox services at its Bridges Evaluation & Treatment location in Yakima.
Jose Lopez, executive vice president of acute, inpatient, and residential services at Comprehensive Healthcare, recently participated in an interview with the Yakima Herald-Republic to discuss the new services and what they mean for the community.
As a newly licensed secure withdrawal management facility, Bridges will continue offering those services while extending the same level of support to people facing the physical and medical challenges of drug or alcohol withdrawal. Both programs are rooted in the same community-based approach, keeping individuals close to the support systems and care providers who matter most to their recovery.
Lopez emphasized that providing these services locally means people no longer have to travel outside of Central and Eastern Washington, or turn to a hospital emergency room, to receive the level of care they need. Staying close to home lets individuals remain connected to family and community throughout treatment, which he noted can meaningfully improve the likelihood of a successful recovery. The expansion of services at Bridges will fill a long-standing gap in involuntary withdrawal management care in the region. The secure, medically monitored detox services will begin in September.
